[A case of renal hemangiopericytoma].
A 27-year-old female was referred with an abdominal mass. Examination revealed a non tender firm mass in the right flank and hypertension (200/100 mmHg). An angiomyolipoma was suspected on computed tomography and arteriography and a radical nephrectomy was performed. On cut section, the kidney was occupied by a well-capsulated, grayish tumor measuring 10 x 9 cm. Pathological diagnosis was a ren...
متن کاملMetastatic renal hemangiopericytoma: A rare case report
INTRODUCTION Hemangiopericytoma (HPC) is an unusual perivascular tumor and first case was described by Stout and Murray in 1942 (1). Moreover, it is classified as a soft-tissue vascular tumor originating from pericytes, which occurs commonly in the extremities, pelvis, head and neck, and meninges (2,3). On the other hand, HPC is rarely encountered in urogenital system (4-6). Renal HPC is also e...
متن کاملRenal hemangiopericytoma: case report and literature review
Hemangioperycytoma is a rare perivascular tumor that seldom involves the urogenital system. This tumor often appears with an unspecific clinical picture, and sometimes is associated with hematuria or hypertension. Diagnosis is based on a combination of histological and immunohistological findings. We report a case of a 52-year-old patient with renal hemangiopericytoma who underwent surgical tre...
متن کاملBilateral metastatic renal hemangiopericytoma ten years after primary intracranial lesion.
We report a case of bilateral metastatic renal hemangiopericytoma. A 37-year-old Caucasian male presented in 1993 with intracranial hemangiopericytoma. Subsequent metastatic disease noted years later include bilateral renal hemangiopericytoma 10 years after initial presentation. To our knowledge, this is only the second reported case of bilateral metastatic renal hemangiopericytoma.
متن کاملHemangiopericytoma of the neck
Hemangiopericytoma (HPC) is an exceedingly rare tumor of uncertain malignant potential. Approximately 300 cases of HPC have been reported since Stout and Murray described HPCs as "vascular tumors arising from Zimmerman's pericytes" in 1942. After further characterization, the WHO reclassified HPC as a fibroblastic/myofibroblastic tumor. Long term follow up is mandatory because the histologic cr...
